Baby Bed That Attaches to Parents Bed | Baby Bed Attached to Parents Bed
Looking for a baby bed attached to parents bed?
If you're interested in co-sleeping with your baby, you should consider buying a baby bed that attaches to parents' bed. If you're unsure what is co-sleeping, you should know that co-sleeping simply means that your child sleepers somewhere near their parents. Your child might sleep in the same bed as you do, or in their baby crib in the same room. There's also another option - a baby bed that attaches to parents' bed. This way the baby gets used to sleeping in their own bed, but they're always close to the mother, what makes many things so much easier for the parents.
How does it work?
There are a few bassinets on the market that work great as a baby bed attached to parents bed. The whole thing is quite easy to set up - you need to attach the bassinet to one side of the bed and then lower (or remove) the side that is next to the parent's bed and you're ready. The mother (or father) have quick and easy access (like within arm's reach) to the baby.
Does the baby have to sleep in the attached bed all the time?
Of course you don't have to use this attached bed all the time. Many parents use them only occasionally - if the baby wakes up during the night parents welcome them into the attached bed, so they won't have to stay in the baby's bedroom until they fall asleep or possibly come there once again when the baby wakes up again.
Arm's Reach Co-Sleeper Bassinet Sleigh Bed, Espresso
Arm's Reach Co-Sleeper Bassinet Sleigh Bed is a bassinet created for bed heights 18" to 24" without legs extended or 26" to 30" bed heights with built-in leg extensions. It's made of solid wood, so it fits to contemporary bedrooms. Many people choose this sleigh bed over the cheaper plastic ones because it simply is a solid piece of furniture. The built-in height adjusters work well, so you'll be able to adjust the height to your bed's height.
The quality of attached accessories seems to be the biggest flaw of this bassinet. Make sure to order extra sheets that are the correct size for this bed, the one that comes with it is scratchy. The mattress and the bumper aren't of the greatest possible quality, so it might happen that you'll choose to order new ones as well.

Arm's Reach Mini Co-Sleeper Bassinet - Natural
Arm's Reach Mini Co-Sleeper Bassinet is a one of the best-selling bassinets. It has wheels on one end, so you can easily move it around the house. There is a storage space underneath the mattress, where you can keep some of the child's toys or accessories. The weight limit of this bassinet is 23lbs. Take note that many people find this bassinet tricky to set up, but unless you'll do that on a daily basis, that shouldn't be a problem.
One thing to note - the description on the Amazon says that it converts to a playpen - this is untrue, it doesn't.
Advantages of co-sleeping
There are quite a few reasons why parents decide to co-sleep with their babies. The most important one is convenience - there's no need to go to the nursery if the little one wakes up and starts to cry at night. Breastfeeding at night is much more convenient as well - the mother doesn't have to leave the bed and she can fall asleep right after nursing the baby. Also, the baby falls asleep faster when she/he knows that the parents are near and he/she will be nursed when hungry. Another great thing, especially for the first-time parents is that they know that their beloved one is with them - there's no separation anxiety, so they can sleep better.
Please remember that a small co-sleeper works well for only a couple of months (5-8). Once your little one starts to pull herself/himself up on the sides and there's a risk of falling out, it's time to quit using the co-sleeper bed.
Remember, attaching the co-sleeper to your bed is CRITICAL.
